Photo .Net is a web site with exceptional photography and a very good forum of photography subjects.
Digital Photo Reviewhas equipment reviews and all the latest news if you are shopping for a camera
PhotoSig is a site that that showcases the work of thousands of members, although the quality is not up to PhotoNet standards it does allow a greater community to receive photo critques
Flickr is another online gallery of images that almost anyone can see. There are many out there like Picasa, Google+, Facebook, etc but I like this one
Photoshopuser is the home of Scott Kelby's NAPP (National Assoc of Photoshop Professionals) and is a pretty good site for photographers of all levels
Training
Kelby Training is a good site for Photoshop and covers alot of material. It is not free but pretty good resource if you need it
PhotoshopTV is available on Itunes as a free podcast from Scott Kelby and has good tips
Lynda is not free but their online training is really good and covers more than just photography.
Equipment
BHPhoto is one of New Yorks online photo stores and has everything you could want in the Photo - Video business from consumer to pro level and at every price. Not usually the best price but usually has it in stock.
Adorama is BH's New York competitor and also a very big store. Sometimes BH and Adorama will compete on prices so check them both before you jump
Online Modeling Sites
OneModelPlace is a site for Models, photographers, artists, and related trades of the industry. Hosts portfolios and ability to place casting calls.
ModelMayHem is another resource for online models. We use both of these sites when we are casting.
Software
Adobe is the gold standard for photo editing. Creative Suite with Photoshop, Dreaweaver, Lightroom, Premier and host of other tools.

NIK creator of NIK tools like Color Effects
DXO provides DXO optics which can process raw files and correct distortions
Corel is the maker of Painter which is a powerful digital painting program
Photodex maker of ProShow is a very capable video slide show producer
